The Hour is Late
While man cannot live on bread alone - we as a human family must nonetheless eat, and provide for our basic, shared human needs.
In 2022, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations stated: “A full 90% of the Earth’s precious topsoil is likely to be at risk by 2050.” The toxins, microplastics, forever chemicals, and loss of biodiversity, has produced a nightmare scenario of runaway ecosystem collapse.”
Nature builds soil slowly. It can take one hundred to one thousand years depending on the climate, for natural processes to build one inch of precious topsoil.
Add to that; the fact that proper human nutrition requires complex ecological synergies found in living soil, and living water, which are needed to grow rich, healthy food and natural medicine.
Most of the life on ground is in the form of the microscopic food web, living in the top two inches of natural soil. These unseen actors are the foundation of the precious ecosystem we humans depend on, for literally everything the natural world provides.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
We are, as a people - are bad stewards. The clear state of things, serves as evidence of our collective folly.
So regardless of our faith, or spiritual inclination, or personal persuasions, or social status, or wealth -
Regardless of whether or not people even care about this global situation…
The plain truth is - Without healthy topsoil: the environment, human health & our collective well being; literally all of society collapses. We are looking at the Dust Bowl on a global scale. The complete desertification of Earth.
Mat 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)
The Hour is Late.
Society cannot hope to maintain adequate human health, if humanity is on the edge of global ecosystem collapse. Our current agricultural systems are radically unsustainable.
If we do not take responsibility for our own food, water, shelter, and energy needs, in a sustainable way; Then by our collective unwilling non-participation in the production of our own basic human needs: We ourselves, are actively-participating in the destruction of this blessed and abundant Earth, God made for everyone.
“The greatest change we need to make is from consumption to production, even if on a small scale, in our own gardens. If only 10% of us do this, there is enough for everyone. Hence the futility of revolutionaries who have no gardens, who depend on the very system they attack, and who produce words and bullets, not food and shelter.” ~ Bill Mollison.
“There is one, and only one solution, and we have almost no time to try it. We must turn all our resources to repairing the natural world, and train all our young people to help. They want to; we need to give them this last chance to create forests, soils, clean waters, clean energies, secure communities, stable regions, and to know how to do it from hands-on experience.” ~ Bill Mollison.
Therefore; Our Collective Food Security is a product of the overall health of the natural environmental systems that yield the genetic and elemental diversity needed to continue our Civilization Forward in health and abundance.
Through environmentally sound, science-based techniques, we can work within the principles of nature to build healthy living soil, orders of magnitude faster than when left unattended. Permaculture offers a holistic, social, scientific, and philosophical path forward. Working within the book of nature.
What’s Good for the Earth, is Good for People. What is Good for People is Good for the Earth. Both are Glorious before God (Isa 61:11).
